Sunday Funday: The Terry Fox Run

Happy Sunday everybody!!

I am very proud of what I accomplished today and I hope I can inspire you to do something similar :)  I did the Terry Fox Run and I donated money for Cancer Research. If you don't know what the Terry Fox Run is, here a small description:

Terry Fox (Terrance Stanley Fox) was born on July 28, 1958 in Canada. He was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 1977 and his right leg was amputated the same year. He used an artificial leg to keep walking and running. In 1980 he began the Marathon of Hope, a cross-country run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. The spread of cancer eventually forced him to end his run after 143 days and 5'373 kilometres (3'339 mi). Although he died shortly after he left a worldwide legacy and the annual Terry Fox Run was born. The first run was held in 1981 and today there are millions of runners in over 60 countries. There has been over 600 Million Dollars raised in his name.

So basically what you do is, you show up at the start of the run. There you can/should donate as much money as you would like. Then you go on the run (usually between 5 and 15 kilometres, the one I did was 10 kilometres) and you can either walk or run the distance. On the way there are small stand where they give you food and something to drink. When you reach the end you get a piece of paper where you can write your name down and put a sticker on it (there is a different sticker every year).

What I hope to achieve with this post is simple, I would like you to go out there any do something good. It doesn't need to be a big or expensive thing that you do, just go out there and do it!
Because even a little bit of kindness goes a long way!

I hope you have a good and healthy week :)
See you tomorrow for ManicureMonday!
